Liverpool are arguably one of the very best teams in Europe and you could dare say they are the best team indeed when you consider that they are the Champions League title holders. For them this was like a consolation for having failed to successfully challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title despite coming very close. They will be looking to step it up this campaign and Jürgen Klopp is surely leaving nothing to chance. They are the only club that might have what it takes to overcome Manchester City. The challenge is how will they do it this time around? The head to head fixtures might have a major role this time around.

Spurs managed to reach the final of the Champions League last season without making any additions in the summer. In fact, they were the first team in the history of the Premier League to do so. Despite all that, they still managed to finish in the top four in the Premier League. A lot of this success is owed to one Mauricio Pochettino, who has brought up a young group of players to be world beaters. They are yet to win a trophy during his five seasons in North London and that will be top on their priority list.

Last season saw Chelsea finish third and win the Europa League, but this season promises to be different in all manner of aspects. The change of coach, the departure of their best player Eden Hazard and the transfer ban has posed a new challenge. The London club can count on the arrival of Christian Pulisic, from Borussia Dortmund, and Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, coming back from loans. These players have already impressed in pre-season and new boss Frank Lampard hopes to emulate last season’s undefeated start.

David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho have tried somehow to imitate Ferguson’s success without any luck. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will begin his first full season as manager of Manchester United after experiencing ups and downs when he took over last year. The Red Devils finished at a disappointing sixth place. They have brought in Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a bid to bolster their chances come the new season. Winning the title this season sounds surreal but a comeback in the top four is definitely within their reach.
