Relief came literally in the last minute of stoppage time in the second half. The Slovaks were already celebrating their qualification when Bellingham equalized with a bicycle kick, changing the course of the game.
As a result, the game went into extra time, and it took less than a minute for England to take the lead. Goal-scorer Harry Kane headed in the second goal, securing England’s spot in the quarter-finals.
Slovakia came so close to reaching the quarter-finals but exited the competition in this match.
⚽Euro 2024: Spain reigns supreme against Georgia
Spain has been the most consistent and impressive team so far in Euro 2024. The only team to win all their games in the group stage, Spain faced Georgia, who had shown surprising form throughout their campaign.
At the 18th minute of the first half, Georgia opened the scoring with an own goal. However, this did not deter Spain, who equalized before halftime through Rodri.
In the second half, Spain completely dominated, scoring three more goals courtesy of Fabián Ruiz, Nico Williams, and Dani Olmo.
The final score of 4-1 maintained Spain’s 100% record and secured their place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024. Georgia, on the other hand, bids farewell to the championship with pride in their historic campaign.
⚽Euro 2024: France overcomes Belgium
France, considered one of the favourites for the Euro 2024 title, continues to underwhelm in terms of performance.
This time, their opponent was Belgium, in a match that offered little excitement to the spectators.
The only goal of the game came in the last minutes of the second half. An own goal by Vertonghen secured France’s 1-0 victory and qualification for the quarter-finals.
Thus, the strong Belgian team bids farewell once again to an international championship without a title.
⚽Euro 2024: Portugal beats Slovenia on penalties
Those who watched the game saw Portugal as anxious and uninspired. The Slovenians were solid in defence, causing difficulties for the Portuguese attackers.
In the second half, Cristiano Ronaldo had the opportunity to open the scoring with a penalty. However, he was stopped by goalkeeper Oblak, who made a brilliant save.
As a result, the game went into extra time and subsequently to a penalty shootout.
If Oblak shone earlier, this time the spotlight was on the Portuguese goalkeeper. Diogo Costa made three saves and secured a 3-0 penalty shootout victory.

⚽Euro 2024: Netherlands easily overcome Romania
In the round of 16 of Euro 2024, the Netherlands confirmed their favouritism against Romania.
With a goal from Gakpo in the first half and two from Donyell Malen towards the end of the second half, the Dutch secured qualification with a 3-0 victory.
Thus, Romania bids farewell to Euro 2024 after topping their group in the initial phase.
⚽Euro 2024: Türkiye defeats Austria and advances
Türkiye continues to showcase excellent football throughout Euro 2024. This time, they faced Austria in a closely contested match.
In the first minute of the game, Demiral opened the scoring for the Turks. Early in the second half, Demiral repeated his feat with another goal.
Gregoritsch later scored for Austria, but it wasn’t enough to achieve their goals.
The final score of 2-1 secured Türkiye’s qualification to the quarter-finals and ended Austria’s dream of advancing further in the championship.
