WBC heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury finally returns to the ring on Saturday 28th October, with the ‘Gypsy King’ set to face former MMA heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 🥊
This is the era of crossover boxing. In what has been billed as the biggest fight of its kind since the game-changing Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor contest back in 2017, ‘The Battle of the Baddest’ will be a fascinating contest regardless of how it plays out! Read on for Premier Bet’s analysis and betting odds. 💰
Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Odds at Premier Bet
Here at Premier Bet, we make Fury the massive favourite at odds of 1.03. After all, he is unbeaten in all 34 of his career fights, and he has proven to be increasingly lethal in recent years, winning each of his last four fights by knockout.
Despite showing plenty of respect for Ngannou, who will be fighting his first professional boxing match, Fury has promised to knockout his opponent “inside six rounds”. Premier Bet are offering odds of 1.99 for the contest to last Under 4.5 Rounds, with Over 4.5 Rounds priced at odds of 1.68.
Fury has previously stated that losing this fight would be a more seismic shock than Liverpool thrashing his beloved Manchester United 7-0 earlier this year. While our odds for an Ngannou win are not as big as that, we have priced him at double figures at 10.00.
How likely is Francis Ngannou to win against Tyson Fury?
As mentioned, Ngannou – who represents Premier Bet as a Brand Ambassador – can be backed to win at odds of 10.00. It’s a heavyweight fight, and those odds certainly are massive for a man who set the world record for the hardest punch ever recorded in 2016.
These odds imply that the Cameroonian fighter has roughly a 10% chance of emerging victorious from his first ever professional boxing bout. Ultimately, it is a long shot for a reason, with Ngannou hoping to catch Fury cold
However, Ngannou is not a complete rookie when it comes to boxing. As we detailed in our piece celebrating our partnership with him earlier this year, Ngannou always had dreams of becoming a boxer before joining the MMA Factory as a young man in Paris.
He has also hooked up with a different Tyson in recent months, having been trained by the legendary Mike Tyson in the build-up to this fight. ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ believes in his protege’s chances.
“I am helping Ngannou. I am learning what he is able to do,” Mike Tyson recently revealed. “He’s able to do so much more than I anticipated. He has what it takes to knockout anything or anybody standing in his way. Once he lands a punch on Fury’s jaw he is going to knock him out too. Nobody can survive that.”
Who are we to argue with the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’?

The heavily anticipated ‘Rumble in Riyadh’ takes place on Saturday 28th October.
There is an extensive undercard beginning from 8pm local time (6pm BST), with Fury and Ngannou billed to emerge for their ring walks at around 12.40am local time (10.40pm BST).

The fight is available to purchase on DAZN PPV, subject to local restrictions.
Who is fighting on the Fury vs Ngannou undercard?
While Fury vs Ngannou is the rightful main event, the crossover match will follow a stacked undercard, featuring Joseph Parker, Carlos Takam and Fabio Wardley.
Former WBO heavyweight champion Parker returns to the ring to face Simon Kean, while Cameroonian-born Takam takes on Congolese fighter Martin Bakole.
Meanwhile, Wardley is a rising star in British boxing, having won all 16 of his professional fights, with his last 15 victories all coming by the way of knockout. There is certainly no love lost between him and his opponent David Adeleye, with the pair involved in a scuffle on the red carpet for Fury and Ngannou’s pre-fight press conference.

Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Prediction
Ultimately, we expect Fury to have too much nous for Ngannou, who has thrown himself right into the deep end by facing one of the greatest boxers of the modern era.
Given Ngannou’s undoubted power and experience as a professional fighter – albeit in an octagon-shaped ring with different rules – Fury will not be taking him lightly on such a grand stage. As such, we can see the ‘Gypsy King’ using the opening rounds to feel his opponent out.
Fury has set a target of knocking Ngannou out “within six rounds”, but only four of Fury’s last 24 fights have lasted fewer than five rounds. As such, with this non-title bout scheduled for 10 rounds, we believe there is value in backing it to last at least half of the maximum distance.
