League football across Europe resumes following two weeks of action-packed international football. We’ve looked at the odds and stats and come up with the Top 5 Bets for the Weekend for you to consider. Bet on these games here.
Brighton v Leicester City – Leicester Win – 2.05
Leicester City’s impressive 2-0 win over Arsenal just before the international break took the flying Foxes up to second place in the Premier League table. They have won eight of their last ten league fixtures. Before the 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford against Manchester United, the Seagulls had won three straight games, all which came at the Amex. Still, they were far from convincing in those fixtures. They beat a crisis-ridden Spurs side, scored a late penalty and beat Everton through an own-goal at the death before winning late against lowly Norwich. With the form they’re in, the Foxes are an unstoppable force.
Bayer Leverkusen v Freiburg – Both Teams to Score – 1.65
Bayer Leverkusen have scored in their last five home games in all competitions while Freiburg have found the back of the net in four of their last five away matches in the Bundesliga. The away side, who have made a flying start in the league this season, have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight competitive games. The visitors have also scored against RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund this season and are eighth in shots per game in the Bundesliga.
Torino v Inter Milan – Inter Milan Win – 1.85
Inter Milan have won ten out of their 12 Serie A matches this season and sit second in the table with 31 points, one fewer than leaders Juventus. Torino have lost three of their last five Serie A matches. The Nerazzurri have a perfect record away from home in the league this season while Walter Mazzarri’s team come into this game winless in three at home and six defeats in the Serie A this term.
Villarreal v Celta Vigo – Villareal Win – 1.75
Celta Vigo have lost their last five La Liga matches and are 18th in the table with nine points. They also have a dreadful away record in La Liga. They have not won away since beating their hosts on Sunday, Villarreal, in December 2018. In that span, they’ve lost 12 away games, including their last four this season. The hosts are much better in that they’re unbeaten at home in La Liga since March. The hosts have also won four of the last six fixtures against Celta.
Saint-Etienne v Montpellier – Saint-Etienne Win – 2.35
Claude Puel has brought changes in a short time he’s been at Saint-Etienne. They have won four of the seven matches under the new coach. Their home form under Puel leaves much to be desired. Still, they beat Monaco 1-0 in their last home match. The hosts have won four of their last four league games while Montpellier are winless in their last five Ligue 1 games. They have picked up just three of a possible 18 points on the road this season, losing three and drawing three. Since they seem incapable of performing away from home, Saint-Etienne are likely to take maximum points on Sunday.
