Top 5 Bets for the week – February 19-22

It is yet another week of exciting football action in Europe. We’ve looked at the stats and come up with the best selections for you to try. You can bet on these matches here.

Liverpool v Bayern Munich – Liverpool Win – 2.00

Liverpool haven’t lost a home game in the Champions League since October 2014. On Tuesday night they will host a European giant, Bayern Munich who will have an uphill task of dethroning the Reds on their own patch. Despite a good run of form in the Champions League, with eight successive away games without defeat, the visitors are still not at their ruthless best. They had to twice come from behind to beat Augsburg in their last Bundesliga outing. Although this game will be very difficult for both teams, Liverpool have a slight upper hand and will be backed by a strong home record, their crowd and a blistering front three who can wreak havoc on their day.

Atletico Madrid v Juventus – Under 2.5 Goals – 1.50

These two teams have reached the Champions League final twice in the past five seasons. This time they meet in the knockout stages. Diego Simeone’s Atletico are famous for its dogged defending, therefore, a low scoring affair might be on the cards. The Bianconeri are also one of the best defensive teams in Europe. They are the best team defensively in Serie A and have kept six clean sheets in their last ten matches in all competitions. When the two teams met in the 2014/2015 season in the group stages Atletico won the home leg 1-0 while the second leg ended goalless. Wanda Metropolitano has been a fortress for the hosts this season. They have kept six clean sheets in their last ten home games and Cristiano Ronaldo and company will have to be very clinical to breach Jan Oblak.

Olympique Lyon v FC Barcelona – Barcelona Win – 1.80

This won’t be a straight forward match for the Spanish champions. They’ll be facing a team which has already beaten other top teams, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain this season. However, Barcelona are unbeaten against Lyon in the last six meetings winning four and drawing two. Barca’s last encounter with French opposition resulted in one of the greatest comebacks of all time against PSG. They lost 4-0 away from home but won 6-1 at home to advance. Lyon will be a man short in attack with Nabil Fekir suspended for this clash. With Lionel Messi, Barcelona are strong favourites in this tie.

Sevilla v Lazio – Sevilla Win – 1.75

Sevilla head into this match with a 1-0 advantage which they got in Rome. They will be looking to finish the job on home soil where they have won all of their six Europa League ties, scoring 22 goals and conceding only one. Lazio have won only twice in their last five away matches. Furthermore, you’ll have to go way back in 2014 when Sevilla lost a home match in the Europa League.

Valencia v Celtic – Valencia Win – 1.60

Valencia come into this home tie with a 2-0 advantage from the first leg of the Europa League Round of 32. Celtic have a mountain to climb and their away record in Europe won’t help them either. They’ve won only once in fifteen away games in the competition. Valencia are also unbeaten in 12 consecutive home matches in all competitions making them huge favourites to emerge winners.
