Things to look out for in the Premier League: Week 38

The final day in the Premier League season promises some mouth-watering clashes and here are some of the things to watch out for. Bet on this match here.

Title race to go to the wire?

Liverpool need to win over Wolverhampton to stand any chance of clinching the Premier League title on the final day of the season. Manchester City, on the other hand, will win the title if they match or better Liverpool’s result, when they travel to Brighton. Jurgen Klopp’s side put in an edgy performance at Newcastle last weekend, but they managed a late goal to take all three points. Pep Guardiola’s men may not have been at their scintillating best over the last few weeks, but they certainly know how to get the job done. We expect both sides to win their fixtures, which would take the title back to the Etihad.

Tight race for the Golden Boot

The last day of the Premier League will see the league’s top scorers go at it one more time before we can know who will win the Golden Boot. As it stands now, Mohamed Salah tops the charts with 22 goals but he is followed very closely by Sergio Aguero, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sadio Mane who are all on 20 goals. Salah is a doubt for the final match of the season following last week’s injury and if any of the other strikers can score more than two goals, he could miss out on the Golden Boot. This is possible, if not likely, considering that the other strikers are in good form at the moment.

Crystal Palace to struggle at home

Crystal Palace and Bournemouth both hope to end the season strongly when they play each other. Palace’s record at Selhurst Park this season has been anything but satisfactory, as they have won just two of their last ten league games there. Eddie Howe’s men have started a bit of a resurgence lately after losing only three of their last eight league matches. They have two wins and a draw coming from their last four away days and this should concern Roy Hodgson and his men.

Chelsea and Spurs to go all out for the top three spot

Chelsea and Tottenham have confirmed their top four places and they just made it to the finals of the Europa League and the Champions League respectively. However, the two are separated by a point and they will want to nail the third spot with a win. Chelsea will travel to Leicester whilst Spurs will be at home to host Everton. These two fixtures promises a lot of action with both sides expected to go all out if only to bag the bragging rights of finishing third in the table.

One last win for Fulham?

Fulham will play their last fixture in the top flight on Sunday when they play host to Newcastle. Fulham, lost 12 of their last 13 Premier League matches at the start of April which led to their relegation. However, since then, they have started to come good. They started their revival with a 2-0 win against Everton and followed it with another two victories. As it were, they have won their last two home games and have an excellent record against Newcastle, winning eight of their last nine home league matches against them. They have a good chance of signing off with a good result and they have the confidence to take the game to their visitors
