Tough test for Liverpool
Liverpool will be counting on another famous Anfield night in the Champions League as they seek to reach the Champions League quarter-finals at Atletico Madrid’s expense. Diego Simeone’s men hold a slim 1-0 advantage but are definitely wary of elimination after witnessing what happened to Barcelona on Merseyside last season. However, Atletico’s approach to games like this mean it will be no easy task for the Reds. Simeone’s side have proven time and time again that they can defend leads for long periods. Liverpool will obviously be on the front foot from the first minute. Therefore, this should be an entertaining affair.
Atalanta’s phenomenal season to continue
Atalanta hammered Valencia 4-1 in the first leg and have an easy task in the second leg of finishing the job against a struggling Valencia side. The Italians managed to recover from a terrible start to their Champions League campaign after they failed to win any of their first four games. Gian Pierro Gasperini’s side have won 7-2 at Lecce in their sole match since the first leg and the signs are ominous for Valencia. Los Che have won just one of their last seven games in all competitions, and it’s a long shot for them to get anything from this game. Albert Celades’ team will need to produce a remarkable comeback to knock out a dangerous Atalanta side who are having a magical season.
Time for PSG to rise to the occasion
The PSG v Borussia Dortmund tie is a finely-poised affair, with the German side having claimed a 2-1 win in the first leg. However, due to the coronavirus epidemic across parts of Europe, this game will be played behind closed doors. Still, PSG will need to rise to the occasion and qualify for the quarters for the first time in three seasons. With Kylian Mbappe and Neymar firing, PSG need to show they belong at the top.
