I’ve written a short preview for anybody playing the Football Jackpot King this weekend. Read my thoughts and see whether you agree! You can buy your tickets here.

Freiburg v Dusseldorf (Bundesliga)

It’s hard to back Dusseldorf here, given that they haven’t won any of their last five Bundesliga games and haven’t picked up a league win away from home since the opening weekend. Freiburg are inconsistent but they’ve won four of their last six home games in the league. (1)

Sheffield United v Brighton (Premier League)

Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester United on Monday means that Sheffield United are only two points behind them. They have won their last three games, as well as three of the last four at Bramall Lane. Brighton are yet to win in 2020 and have lost eight of their 13 away league games this season. (1)

Burnley v Bournemouth (Premier League)

Burnley won at Bournemouth when these sides met two months ago. Since then the Clarets have been on the up and have won three of their last four league games. Bournemouth’s mini-resurgence was ended by Sheffield United. They’ve now lost their last four away games in the league. (1)

Crystal Palace v Newcastle (Premier League)

I worry for Crystal Palace, who have only won once in their last 12 league games. That came in December, thanks to a last-minute winner from Jordan Ayew. Newcastle need to dust themselves off after their heavy defeat at Arsenal. They’ve only won two of their last ten league games; both of those victories were at home. (X)

Stoke v Cardiff (Championship)

Stoke are only three points above the Championship drop zone and have lost three of their last four games. Meanwhile, no Championship side are in better form than Cardiff across the last five games. Their last two away matches have seen them win at struggling Huddersfield and Luton; I’d put Stoke in that bracket. (2)

Charlton v Luton (Championship)

Luton won at Middlesbrough in their last league game. However, that was the first time they’ve avoided defeat in an away game since September! Charlton have won two of their last four league games and a win would put them nine points above the visitors. (1)

Fiorentina v AC Milan (Serie A)

AC Milan have only lost two of their last 15 games and have won four of their last six away games. They’re also seven points above Fiorentina, whom they beat at this stadium last season. In fact, they have not tasted defeat here since 2015. (2)

Osasuna v Granada (La Liga)

These teams are only separated by two points in the standings and Osasuna will go above the visitors with a win. The hosts have only lost three home games this season, which is an impressive record for a promoted side. Granada came up from the Segunda Division with them but have lost their last eight away games in La Liga. (1)

Torino v Parma (Serie A)

Torino have lost five league games in a row, their worst such run in the Serie A since 2007. They’ve conceded ten goals across their last two home games. Parma won at Sassuolo last weekend and are competing for a Europa League spot. (2)

Arsenal v Everton (Premier League)

Arsenal are now unbeaten in their last six league games following victory over Newcastle. Everton are two points above them in the table but have only won two of their five away games since Carlo Ancelotti’s appointment. The Toffees have never won at the Emirates and have lost on each of their last five visits, conceding 14 goals in the process. (1)
