Mr. Predictor’s AFCON tips for the weekend

Hi gang! I’m looking at the final games in Groups A and B on Sunday, but there’s also a big clash on Saturday! You can bet on all of the AFCON matches here.

Cameroon 1 v 1 Ghana – Saturday 29 June – AFCON 2019 – Both Teams to Score (2.15)

These two teams are the favourites to go through from Group F, but they had very different starts to the tournament. The reigning champions beat Guinea-Bissau easily, meaning that they have now avoided defeat in their last seven games at the AFCON. Meanwhile, the Black Stars could only manage a 2-2 with Benin in their first game. They have only lost one of their last ten games in all competitions though, so I think a Draw is a likely result.

Burundi 1 v 1 Guinea – Sunday 30 June – AFCON 2019 – Both Teams to Score (2.10)

Guinea have not been at their best in Egypt. They’ve only managed one point from two games and star man Naby Keita doesn’t appear to be fully fit. They need a win in order to go through but they haven’t won any of their last seven games. This is Burundi’s first time at the AFCON and they can still qualify for the next round. Both teams need the points, but I’m going for a Draw.

Madagascar 0 v 1 Nigeria – Sunday 30 June – AFCON 2019 – Under 2.5 Goals (1.40)

The Super Eagles are already through to the next round after they won their first two matches. They haven’t been dominant in either game, but they have only conceded one goal in their last five games in all competitions. Madagascar can go through to the next round if results go their way, but this will be their toughest tie yet. I’m going for another narrow win for Nigeria, and I don’t see many goals.

Uganda 0 v 1 Egypt – Sunday 30 June – AFCON 2019 – Under 2.5 Goals (1.50)

These sides are the top two teams in Group A. Uganda have won one and drawn one so far, which means that they are probably through to the next round. The Pharaohs have won eight of their last ten games, including both at the AFCON. Since the host nation haven’t conceded yet, and there have been Under 2.5 Goals in four of Uganda’s last five games, I think a low-scoring Egypt win is a sensible bet.

Zimbabwe 1 v 1 DR Congo – Sunday 30 June – AFCON 2019 – Under 2.5 Goals (1.55)

Neither of these teams have won a game so far, so we will be saying goodbye to at least one of them at full time. Zimbabwe would probably go through to next round with a win. DR Congo have been disappointing at the tournament, having lost both of their games so far without scoring. Pride is at stake here, and I’m backing a Draw.
