Mr. Predictor looks at the big games in the Premier League and more

Hi gang! Both Manchester clubs face tough games this weekend, and there’s a rematch of the Super Cup in France. Click here to bet.

Southampton 1 v 3 Liverpool – Saturday 17 August – Premier League – Liverpool Win with 1:0 Handicap (2:10)

After their 3-0 defeat at Burnley last weekend, this isn’t exactly the fixture that Southampton would have wanted. Liverpool have now won ten games in a row in the Premier League, including a 4-1 thrashing of Norwich on the opening day of this season. They have also beaten Southampton on the handicap in their last four meetings. I have to go for an Away Win, and I think it’ll be comfortable.

Man City 3 v 1 Tottenham – Saturday 17 August – Premier League – Man City Win and Over 2.5 Goals (1.75)

Any lingering doubt that City would still be dominant this season vanished last Saturday when they put five goals past West Ham. That victory made it 19 wins in their last 20 league games, but this will be more of a test. Spurs came back from 1-0 down to beat Aston Villa 3-1 on Saturday. However, they have lost their last six away league games and will be without Son Heung-Min and Juan Foyth through suspension. Even though Tottenham eliminated City in the Champions League last season, Pep Guardiola’s side have won their last four league meetings. This is a Home Win.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1 v 1 Hoffenheim – Sunday 18 August – Bundesliga – Both Teams to Score (1.45)

One thing I expect here: goals. Frankfurt have already played some Europa League qualifiers this season, and they have been scoring lots of goals. Hoffenheim were very entertaining to watch in 2018/19. Both teams scored in 16 of their 17 away league games last campaign. They started this season with a 3-3 draw at Wurzburger Kickers in the DFB Pokal last weekend. Both Teams to Score has been a winning bet in these sides’ last four meetings – I see it here.

Rennes 1 v 3 PSG – Sunday 18 August – Ligue 1 – Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals (1.85)

These teams met just two weeks ago in the Trophée des Champions, when PSG won 2-1 (I should mention I predicted the correct score in that game). Rennes have since won away to Montpellier last Saturday, while PSG beat Nimes 3-0 the following day. Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals were both winning bets in PSG’s final five away league games last season. Considering it also happened when these sides met earlier in the month, I’m backing it again.

Wolves 1 v 1 Man United – Monday 19 August – Premier League – Both Teams to Score (1.80)

Wolves played in the Europa League qualifiers on Thursday, but I expect them to be fit and ready for this game. They already proved that their schedule isn’t affecting them when they drew 0-0 at Leicester on the opening weekend. United will be full of confidence after their win over Chelsea, which followed a successful pre-season campaign. However, they could not beat Wolves in any of their three clashes last season. I think a Draw could be a smart bet here.
