A guide to this week’s matches with Mr. Predictor

Midtjylland v Astana – Wednesday 1 August – Champions League Qualifier – BET HERE

Midtjylland have to go for the win here after they lost 2-1 to Astana in the first leg last week. The Danish side don’t have much experience in the Champions League qualifiers, but won three of their four matches in the 2015/16 qualification phase. Astana are top of the Kazakhstan Premier League and have won three of their past five away games. I think they’ll get a result here.

Match Tip: Double Chance Astana
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Midtjylland 1 v 1 Astana

Rosenborg v Celtic – Wednesday 1 August – Champions League Qualifier – BET HERE

Rosenborg have a mountain to climb to come back from 3-1 down, especially since Celtic have won seven of their past ten qualification games. The Norwegian side are currently second in the Eliteserien and have won one of their last five Champions League matches. They lost to the Bhoys a year ago at the Lerkendal Stadion, and I don’t think they will turn it around this time.

Match Tip: Both Teams to Score
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Rosenborg 1 v 1 Celtic

Basel v PAOK – Wednesday 1 August – Champions League Qualifier – BET HERE

To put it bluntly, it’s not looking good for Basel. Last season they failed to win the Super League for the first time since 2009, and they lost their first league game this season. They’re also 2-1 down to PAOK, so have to find a win. Both teams have scored in all six of the Greek side’s pre-season friendlies and their past six qualifiers, so I think the visitors can score here. I’m backing a Draw.

Match Tip: Both Teams to Score
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Basel 1 v 1 PAOK

Burnley v Aberdeen – Thursday 2 August – Europa League Qualifier – BET HERE

I didn’t think it would be easy for Burnley last week and I was proven right when the first leg finished 1-1. The Clarets have prepared for this game with a friendly against Montpellier and now have home advantage. Aberdeen ended last season with an away win over Celtic, but they have lost three of their last five away qualifiers in the Europa League. I’m going for a Home Win with Under 2.5 Goals.

Match Tip: Under 2.5 Goals
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Burnley 1 v 0 Aberdeen

Reading v Derby – Friday 3 August – Championship – BET HERE

This is a great game to kick off the new Championship season. Paul Clement faces his former side and he’ll need a change of fortunes as the Royals have failed to win any of their five pre-season friendlies. This is Frank Lampard’s first league game as a manager and he’s had a good summer with Derby, having already beaten Southampton amongst others. The last five meetings between these sides have all seen both teams score and I’m backing the same in an entertaining Draw.

Match Tip: Both Teams to Score
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Reading 2 v 2 Derby
