Premier Bet Ambassador Francis Ngannou will fight WBC heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia on Saturday 28th October.
The match will take place in a regulation boxing ring under professional boxing rules, with three ringside judges using the 10-point must system. The amount of rounds for the bout has not yet been specified.
As we explained when announcing that he had joined the Premier Bet team as an Ambassador, Ngannou grew up as a huge fan of Mike Tyson, moving from Cameroon to France at 26-years-old with the intention of becoming a professional boxer.
Instead, he joined the world-famous MMA factory in Paris and never looked back. However, on October 28, those initial desires will become a reality when the former MMA heavyweight champion faces the ‘Gypsy King’, who remains unbeaten in 34 fights during an illustrious career.
“My dream was always to box, and to box the best,” Ngannou revealed in his statement. “After becoming the undisputed MMA Heavyweight Champion, this is my opportunity to make that dream come true and cement my position as the baddest man on the planet.”
Since defeating Deontay Wilder twice to claim and retain the WBC heavyweight title in February 2020 and October 2021 respectively, Fury went on to beat fellow British boxers Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora last year.
Fury and Ngannou shared the ring together moments after Fury took out Whyte in April 2022, hinting at an epic “Clash of the Titans” in the future.
“[Ngannou] is supposed to be the hardest puncher in the world, but let’s see how he reacts when he gets hit by the Big Gypsy King,” Fury taunted in his statement. “I can’t wait to get back out there under the lights.”
Here at Premier Bet, we certainly can’t wait to see two legendary fighters go head-to-head in the ring, even if it is shaped a little differently to the one that Ngannou has fought in for most of his professional career.
Indeed, given Fury’s prodigious experience and skill as a boxer, it is perhaps no surprise that the ‘Gypsy King’ has been installed as the odds-on favourite at 1.09. But if you fancy backing Ngannou’s power to shine through, you can back ‘The Predator’ to win at chunky odds of 5.60.
Since joining Premier Bet as an Ambassador earlier this year, Ngannou has already teamed up with Premier Projects to launch an MMA Arena and Academy in his home country Cameroon, which you can read more about by clicking here. We believe this is just the beginning of a wonderful partnership together.
