AC Milan v Newcastle (Tuesday 17:45 GMT)

AC Milan stunned many neutrals by reaching the semi-finals last season, although their 3-0 aggregate defeat to their city rivals Inter was a particularly painful pill to swallow.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are making their first appearance in the competition for 20 years. With Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund drawn alongside them in Group F, there is little doubt that this is the ‘Group of Death’ in this year’s competition.

Italy midfielder Sandro Tonali will make his first appearance at San Siro since leaving Milan for Newcastle in the summer, and we are predicting a draw between two evenly-matched teams, with neither manager wanting to lose their first match.

Bayern Munich v Man Utd (Wednesday 20:00 GMT)

In contrast, Group A looks much more lop-sided, with Bayern and Man Utd expected to comfortably hold off the threat of Copenhagen and Galatasaray and progress into the knockout stages.

As such, their two head-to-head battles could prove crucial in determining who tops the group, thereby – in theory at least – setting themselves up for an easier draw in the last-16.

Harry Kane will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing the Red Devils, who he was perennially linked with before opting to ditch North London for Bavaria, and we fancy the England striker to fire his new team to victory by getting on the scoresheet.
