The Champions League quarter-finals get underway on Tuesday 11th April, with Manchester City hosting Bayern Munich at the Etihad Stadium in the stand-out tie of the round.

The draw has not been kind to either of these two teams, who head the Champions League outright betting this season, with Real Madrid potentially lying in wait in the semi-finals for the winner of this tie.
However, it has produced a fascinating half of the draw for neutrals to savour, with Man City hoping the addition of Erling Haaland in attack finally helps them secure that elusive maiden Champions League title.
Bayern, of course, have recently made a change in their management dugout, with Thomas Tuchel replacing Julian Nagelsmann. The former Chelsea boss has pedigree when it comes to out-foxing Pep Guardiola, having beaten Man City with the Blues in the final two seasons ago.
The Bavarians have won both league games under the 49-year-old’s tutelage to return to the top of the Bundesliga table, but there is little doubt that Guardiola’s side head into this match in better form having won eight consecutive matches in all competitions.
As such, the standout bet is Man City to win at 1.62. While Bayern should keep things competitive, I’m struggling to see a world where the English side don’t take a lead with them to protect in Munich next week.
They’re incredibly consistent at home under Guardiola: 15 wins in their last 16 matches in the Champions League backs that up, especially as the only exception was a 0-0 draw against Sporting Lisbon when they had already won 5-0 away from home in the first leg.
At a similar price, Haaland to score anytime at 1.63 is also a more than fair price for a player with 44 goals and counting since making the switch from Borussia Dortmund last summer. He scored five goals in seven appearances against Bayern during his time in Germany and will fancy his chances with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish feeding him.
