Champions League Overview (14-15th February)

The UEFA Champions League returns to action on Tuesday 14th February, with four of the eight last-16 ties taking place this week.

English sides Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea travel to Italy and Germany to take on AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund respectively, while Benfica will head to Club Brugge as massive favourites to progress to the quarter-finals.

Remember, with Premier Bet, if the favourite (shortest priced selection) lets down your European accumulator, we will refund your stake up to a certain amount thanks to our UEFA Banker Insurance offer. T&C’s apply.

As far as this week goes, though, there’s only one match to focus on.

Paris Saint-Germain vs. Bayern Munich (Tuesday 20:00 GMT)

Indeed, we have a repeat of the 2020 final to feast on in the form of PSG v Bayern at Parc des Princes on Tuesday.

Bayern won that final 1-0 in Lisbon courtesy of a winning strike from Parisian-born Kingsley Coman, before PSG exacted their revenge on the Bavarians one season later in one of the all-time UCL fixtures at the quarter-final stage.

Much like Manchester City, PSG are still yet to win a maiden Champions League title despite being heavily backed by their wealthy Qatari owners since 2011.

With Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Marco Veratti all injury doubts for the first leg, it is perhaps little surprise to see Bayern installed as the marginal favourites at 2.50 to return to Munich with a win.

However, PSG’s supremely talented trio all took part in some form of training on Sunday and could therefore be involved, while Bayern will still be missing Sadio Mane due to a knee injury. Thomas Muller was also subbed during his side’s win against VfL Bochum on Saturday with a calf issue.

From a betting point of view, with plenty of uncertainty around team news and neither team quite as dominant domestically as they have been in recent seasons, Both Teams To Score at 1.45 looks the safest way to tackle this match.

PSG have only kept two clean sheets in 11 matches since returning from the World Cup, with those coming against rock-bottom Angers in Ligue 1 and sixth division side US Pays de Cassel in the Coupe de France.

Bayern kept their only clean sheet in their last five league games against Bochum at the weekend, meanwhile, with both teams only failing to score in a match once since early October. It would be a big surprise if either goalkeeper keeps a clean sheet, then.

If you prefer a bigger price, Both Teams To Score & Draw is the value pick at 4.00. We don’t think either team would be too disappointed with avoiding defeat in the first leg, leaving everything to play for at the Allianz Arena in three weeks’ time.
