Champions League Gameweek 4: Newcastle can climb Yellow Wall

The 2023-24 Champions League campaign continues into matchday four from Tuesday 7th November, with Borussia Dortmund hosting Newcastle United in Group F.

On Wednesday, Manchester United travel to Denmark to face FC Copenhagen, with the Red Devils hoping to move into the top two positions in Group A. ⚽

We have picked five winners from six tips across the opening three gameweeks, so we are hoping for more of the same this time around! We also have an accumulator for you to get stuck into! 💰

Dortmund v Newcastle (Tuesday 17:45 GMT)

Dortmund secured an impressive 1-0 win away to Newcastle on the last matchday, with Felix Nmecha’s strike just before half-time proving enough for the Bundesliga runners-up to claim a crucial victory. Both sides head into this match level on four points, two points behind Paris Saint-Germain and two ahead of AC Milan, who face each other later on Tuesday.

Eddie Howe’s side gained a 1-0 win against Arsenal on Saturday, while Dortmund simultaneously lost 4-0 at home to Bayern Munich in Der Klassiker, with Harry Kane scoring a hat-trick. As such, we can envisage Newcastle feeling much more confident than their opponents on Tuesday, and will back them to edge what is likely to be a tight and cagey affair given the importance of it.

Copenhagen v Man Utd (Wednesday 20:00 GMT)

Likewise, Man Utd claimed their own important 1-0 victory against Copenhagen on the previous matchday, with Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana saving a penalty in the last minute to help his side claim their first points in the Champions League this season. They are one point behind Galatasaray and two ahead of their forthcoming opponents, with Bayern riding high at the top of the table on maximum points.

Erik ten Hag’s side left it late to beat Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage on Saturday, with Bruno Fernandes bagging an injury time winner. They are still not playing particularly well, meaning Danish Superliga leaders Copenhagen may fancy their chances of claiming a positive result. However, with Marcus Rashford potentially set to be absent through injury once again, we’ll back Fernandes to score again.
