Big Game Focus: Manchester United v Liverpool

Manchester United and Liverpool take on each other in the Premier League as the Reds hope to keep their 100% record in the 2019/2020 Premier League campaign intact. Bet on football here.

Jurgen Klopp’s men look unstoppable at the moment as they look to register their 18th consecutive league win. If they do, they will equal Man City’s Premier League record. However, more importantly than team records, they also have a lead to protect at the summit of the table and they will be going for all the three points.

Manchester United are trying to cope with injuries to key members of the squad and this has seen them fail to win any of their last five matches in regular time. They will need Marcus Rashford to be firing and he showed during the international break with England that he is back to his best condition.

Betting preview

Both teams to score has landed in three of Liverpool’s last five outings on the road and the same has landed in three of the last four encounters between the two sides. Odds of 1.75 look good for Both Teams to Score and you can back that.

Liverpool have won two of the last three meetings between the two and are currently unbeaten in the league, whilst Manchester United have won only one of their last five outings and they had to go to penalties to do that. Therefore odds of 1.70 for an away win look really attractive and you can back that now.

There have been Over 2.5 Goals in three of the last four meetings between the sides and Liverpool’s attacking threat could be too much for a weak Manchester United defence. All likelihood is that we will see a number of goals making odds of 1.75 for Over 2.5 Goals look good.

Team news

Alisson is ready to make his comeback after missing Liverpool’s last 11 games through injury. He is expected to go straight back in the starting line up here whilst Joel Matip is also back in full training and should be fine to start at Old Trafford. Mohamed Salah escaped serious injury in Liverpool’s win over Leicester before the international break but is still rated as a doubt heading into Sunday’s match.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba are all expected back for Sunday’s welcome of rivals Liverpool. However, David de Gea is a huge doubt after picking up a suspected groin injury on Tuesday whilst playing for Spain. Luke Shaw is also struggling to prove his fitness in time. Daniel James suffered a head injury for Wales during the international break and may need assessment from United’s medical staff ahead of Sunday’s match.
