Tottenham will be out to bounce back from the shock defeat away to Burnley when they face Chelsea in the Premier League today. You can bet on the match here.
Chelsea were unlucky during the weekend after losing the League Cup final to Manchester City on penalties and they will now focus on the Premier League. They have lost three of their last four Premier League matches and now find themselves sixth in the table. Away from home they have shipped 12 goals without reply in the last three league matches, but their home record has been impressive and they can take solace in their performance against City.
Tottenham will have a huge task against a side that have lost once at home all season, although the visitors themselves have an impressive away record following 11 wins from their 13 outings this season. However, the hosts have more to lose with a negative result and we think they will rally to get a result.
Betting preview
Chelsea have seen at least three goals scored in seven of their last nine meetings with London rivals Spurs, while the visitors have seen more than two scored in six of their last eight Premier League away days. This makes Over 2.5 Goals look a very worthwhile bet and you can back this at odds of 1.75.
Chelsea are out of the top four and, unless they win the Europa League, it will be their only route to the Champions League next season. They also have a very good home record after losing one Premier League match all season. Backing a Home Win Draw No Bet looks promising at odds of 1.60.
Five of the last six meetings between the two sides have witnessed goals at both ends and this looks very likely heading into this match. You can back Both Teams to Score at odds of 1.60 here.
Team news
Gonzalo Higuain was on the bench against City but will return to the fold in Wednesday’s London derby. Callum Hudson-Odoi may have to settle for a place on the bench once again following another impressive display from the youngster in the League Cup final. Mateo Kovacic will likely replace Ross Barkley, while Marcos Alonso may sit out once again.
Tottenham will have Eric Dier fit for selection after missing the trip to Burnley due to illness. Kieran Trippier and Davinson Sanchez can also expect to be restored to the starting lineup after being rested in readiness for Spur’s busy fixtures.
