Mr. Predictor looks at the Premier League games on Wednesday and Thursday

Hi gang! The first games of 2020 are here and I’m really excited! How will Arsenal fare against Manchester United? Read my tips below. Click here to bet on these matches.

Southampton 1 v 2 Tottenham – Wednesday 1 January – Premier League – Both Teams to Score (1.55)

Southampton are on a good run. They haven’t lost any of their last three games and are starting to move clear of the relegation zone. However, they have lost six of their ten games at St. Mary’s this season and Tottenham are playing well. They have won six of their ten games under Jose Mourinho and beat the Saints in September, despite playing most of the game with ten men. I see an Away Win and I’m backing Both Teams to Score. It’s been a winning bet in the last eight games between these sides, and in eight of Mourinho’s ten games at Tottenham.

West Ham 2 v 1 Bournemouth – Wednesday 1 January – Premier League – Both Teams to Score (1.60)

West Ham’s poor form has led to the sacking of Manuel Pellegrini and the return of David Moyes, and I’m backing a win here. The Irons have lost seven of their last ten league games but have looked better than Bournemouth. The Cherries have lost seven of their last ten games too but have struggled for goals lately. They created very few chances against Brighton on Saturday and injuries have significantly weakened their defence. That’s why I think Moyes will win in his first game back.

West Brom 1 v 1 Leeds – Wednesday 1 January – Championship – Both Teams to Score (1.55)

These sides are currently at the top of the Championship and look the favourites for automatic promotion to the Premier League. Neither side is in particularly good form, though. West Brom have dropped to second after winning just one of their last five games. That means that Leeds have climbed above them on goal difference and, although they haven’t been convincing recently, they have only lost one of their last 14 games. I’m going for a Draw and Both Teams to Score, which has happened in 11 of West Brom’s 12 home league games.

Arsenal 1 v 2 Man United – Wednesday 1 January – Premier League – Double Chance Man United and Both Teams to Score (2.25)

After that heart-breaking defeat against Chelsea on Sunday, Arsenal face another tough test at the Emirates. The Gunners have lost four games in a row on home turf and have just one win in their last 15 games. In contrast, United have won their last two games and have emerged winners on two of their last three trips to the Emirates. However, they have only kept a clean sheet in one of their last 15 league games and Arsenal are capable of getting a goal. Both Teams to Score looks a good bet, and I think that Mikel Arteta will have to wait a little longer for his first win.

Liverpool 2 v 0 Sheffield United – Thursday 2 January – Premier League – Under 3.5 Goals (1.55)

It’s looking all too easy for Liverpool right now. Eighteen wins from 19 games has left them 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League and their long wait for the title is almost over. They’ve only conceded nine times at Anfield in the league this season, so I don’t expect Sheffield United to create many chances. I have been really impressed with the visitors this season and that loss to Manchester City was their first away defeat of the season. I think that this will be a second defeat in a row, though.
