Mr. Predictor looks at Matchweek Five in the Champions League

Hello gang! This is a great set of fixtures  – I can’t wait. Remember to follow @mr_predictor on Twitter for more of my tips. Bet on the Champions League here.

Juventus 2 v 1 Atletico – Tuesday 26 November – Champions League – 2nd Half with Most Goals

Juventus are unbeaten in all competitions this season and know a victory would see them through as group winners. They beat Atletico here 3-0 in March courtesy of a Cristiano Ronaldo hat trick. The Portuguese is an injury doubt for this game, but Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain have proved able deputies lately. Atletico haven’t won any of their last five away games and I expect another loss this time. My bet is 2nd Half with Most Goals, which has happened in all of Atletico’s four Champions League games this season, and three out of four for Juve.

Real Madrid 1 v 1 PSG – Tuesday 26 November – Champions League – Both Teams to Score

Both teams have been in fantastic form lately and I expect a far more competitive clash than the one in September when PSG won 3-0. Real Madrid have won four of their last five games and need to win this in order to stand a chance of finishing top of the group. Their record at the Bernabeu is good too, with four wins in their last five home games. Their opponents have won all four of their Champions League games this season without conceding a goal. They have actually won 16 of their 19 games this season in all competitions. I think Thomas Tuchel would be happy with a draw that would confirm first place, though.

Valencia 1 v 2 Chelsea – Wednesday 27 November – Champions League – Both Teams to Score

This is a big game in an interesting group. Both teams are on seven points in Group H, level with Ajax, and Chelsea will be out for revenge after losing to Valencia in September. The Spanish side lost to Real Betis on Saturday and know a win would see them through. However, the Blues have won seven of their ten away games this season and, despite them losing, I was impressed by their display at Manchester City. I’m going for an Away win and I’m backing Both Teams to Score, which has been a common theme for both sides here of late.

Barcelona 2 v 0 Dortmund – Wednesday 27 November – Champions League – Barcelona Win

Barcelona came back to win at Leganes on Saturday and their best players are starting to find form. They drew at home to Slavia Prague in their last game in the Champions League, but their record at the Camp Nou is very strong otherwise. They have won 17 of their last 20 home games in the Champions League and I don’t hold much hope for Dortmund. They drew 3-3 with Paderborn on Friday and lost 4-0 at Bayern in their last away game. They have also lost six of their last ten away games in the Champions League. This is a Home Win.

Liverpool 2 v 1 Napoli – Wednesday 27 November – Champions League – Liverpool Win and Both Teams to Score

Liverpool’s defence has not been as strong as it was last season and Both Teams to Score has been a winning bet in their last ten games. They have won eight of those ten games, though, and have also won nine of their last ten Champions League games at Anfield. One of those victories actually came against Napoli, who are winless in their last six games. Like Liverpool, their games have been open, with Both Teams to Score a winning bet in four of the last five. The Reds haven’t kept a clean sheet in Europe this season, but I still expect them to take the three points.
