Top 5 bets of the week

Another crucial but exciting week of European football is here. After looking at the odds and stats, we’ve come up with some selections which you might want to consider. You can bet on European football here.

Barcelona v Manchester Utd – Barcelona Win – 1.40

Barcelona host Man United in the Champions League quarter-final second leg with a 1-0 advantage. The Spanish side have won the last three fixtures between these teams, the first two on the biggest club stage of all, the 2009 and 2011 finals. Barca have never lost at home to United, winning two and drawing the other two. Man United have won just two of their last 16 matches against Spanish clubs. Moreover, Barca have lost just twice at home all season. Therefore, a Barca win is very likely.

Juventus v Ajax – Juventus Win – 1.70

Juventus host Ajax as they look to secure their third semi-final berth in five years in the Champions League. The first leg ended 1-1 with Ajax dominating at home but things could get interesting in Turin. Ajax have won only two of their 13 European matches against the Bianconeri, and none since 1974. Ajax have not qualified for the last four since 1996-1997 when their campaign was ended by the hosts, a team they had beaten in the final of the previous season. Therefore, Ajax have a mountain to climb.

Porto v Liverpool – Liverpool Win – 2.05

Portuguese giants Porto have a lot of work to do when they host Liverpool in the second leg, having lost 2-0 away from home. The hosts have never beaten Liverpool in seven attempts. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last seven away games in all competitions, winning their last three. Porto have recorded only two victories in seven previous quarter-final appearances, one of which came in 2004 when they were crowned European champions. Liverpool also hammered the home side 5-0 in last season’s Round of 16. Given Liverpool’s form at the moment, it’s hard to see Porto getting a sniff.

Napoli v Arsenal – Napoli Win – 1.80

Arsenal carries a 2-0 advantage to the Stadio San Paolo on Thursday night and look to complete the job and reach the Europa League semis for the second successive season. Napoli have won five of their seven home fixtures against Premier League opposition, including a 1-0 win over Liverpool in this season’s Champions League. The Italian side has lost just one home match since March last year. Arsenal have won just two of their last 12 away matches in all competitions. Considering’s the visitor’s poor away form, Napoli should get a comfortable win here.

Eintracht Frankfurt v Benfica – Over 2.5 Goals – 1.55

The home side have plenty of work to do after losing the first leg 4-2 away from home. Six of Frankfurt’s last ten matches in the Europa League have seen three or more goals scored.  Seven of Benfica’s last ten matches in all competitions has seen Over 2.5 Goals scored. A high scoring clash is in store at the Commerzbank-Arena.
