David De Gea (Manchester United)
Manchester United won their first game at Tottenham since 2012 on Sunday, and the fans have one man to thank. De Gea was determined to not be beaten at Wembley, making a total of 11 saves to keep Tottenham out. He now has back-to-back clean sheets in the Premier League for the first time this season – he’s deserved more.
Kyle Walker (Manchester City)
Walker completed 100 of his 105 attempted passes against Wolves; in comparison, the visitors’ five-man midfield made 100 accurate passes in total. With only Raheem Sterling making more successful dribbles, it was a good night for the England defender.
Kurt Zouma (Everton)
Zouma’s second half goal set Everton on their way to their first home win in the league since November. The Chelsea loanee was left completely free to convert Lucas Digne’s cross with half an hour to go, while he also marked the game with his first clean sheet in eight league matches. A key player this weekend.
David Luiz (Chelsea)
Luiz recorded the highest pass success rate of any outfield player in Chelsea’s win over Newcastle. The Brazilian played 79 accurate passes in the game, one of which was the assist for Pedro to open the scoring. He also made six clearances and won both of his attempted tackles. Chelsea remain six points clear in fourth place.
Lucas Digne (Everton)
The wonderful benefit of Digne’s arrival is that Everton have not had to change the style that so suited Leighton Baines. Like his predecessor, the Frenchman likes to attack and has an exceptional cross, which he used to good effect to create the Toffees’ opener against Bournemouth. He was also solid in defence, with three tackles.
Jeff Hendrick (Burnley)
Burnley extended their winning run to three games in the Premier League as they came from behind to beat Fulham. Hendrick supplied the assist for both of the Clarets’ goals, first firing the ball in via Joe Bryan before his cross was converted by Denis Odoi for a second own goal. It’s not looking good for Fulham now.
Declan Rice (West Ham)
Rice’s star continues to rise after a match-winning performance against Arsenal. The youngest player on the field scored the game’s only goal when he rifled the ball into the top corner from Samir Nasri’s cutback. Can the Irons hold onto him in the summer?
Paul Pogba (Manchester United)
Another influential display from United’s marquee player, who set up Marcus Rashford for the winner at Wembley with a wonderfully-weighted through ball. The Frenchman completed more dribbles than any other player (four), while only Luke Shaw managed more touches of the ball for the visitors. Is this the dawn of a new era for the World Cup winner?
Marcus Rashford (Manchester United)
Rashford scored his fourth goal in five league games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to end United’s losing run away at Tottenham. It wasn’t a straightforward finish, either, as he ran wide before finding the far corner with unerring accuracy. At this rate, Romelu Lukaku might find himself on the bench for a while.
Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City)
Jesus continued his incredible scoring run with a brace against Wolves on Monday night. The game was not yet ten minutes old when he finished from Leroy Sane’s cross, and he doubled his tally before half time from the spot. He now has seven goals in his last three matches in all competitions – it doesn’t look good for Huddersfield this Sunday…
Felipe Anderson (West Ham)
The Arsenal defence could not cope with Anderson as he stamped his authority over the match at the London Stadium. His tally of 66 touches was higher than that of any of his teammates, while only Alex Iwobi completed more dribbles (six to Anderson’s five). Where could his talent lift the Irons to?
