Mr. Predictor's Champions League preview

Hi gang! I’m looking at the biggest games in the Champions League this week, and I expect joy for the English teams in action.

Hoffenheim v Manchester City – Tuesday 2 October – Champions League – BET HERE

Both of these teams need a win here after failing to take all three points in their opening games. Hoffenheim let the lead slip at Shakhtar Donetsk to draw 2-2, while Manchester City lost at home to Lyon. The German outfit only have one home win so far this season and, despite City’s consistency away from home in Europe, I think they’ll beat the hosts.

Match Tip: Both Teams to Score
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Hoffenheim 1 v 2 Manchester City

Manchester United v Valencia – Tuesday 2 October – Champions League – BET HERE

Jose Mourinho is under some pressure here after a string of poor results for Manchester United: They’ve only won once in four matches at Old Trafford this season, but they beat Young Boys 3-0 in their first game and won all three of their home group games last season. Valencia lost 2-0 to ten-man Juventus two weeks ago, and I’m going for the same score here.

Match Tip: Under 2.5 Goals
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Man United 2 v 0 Valencia

Tottenham v Barcelona – Wednesday 3 October – Champions League – BET HERE

Spurs haven’t won any of their last three games in the Champions League and defeat here would put them in danger of early elimination. However, Barcelona haven’t won any of their last three matches, which is their longest winless run since December 2016. The Catalans have two wins from three away games this season, although they’ve only won one of their last seven Champions League away games with just two goals in that run. I’m backing a Draw at Wembley.

Match Tip: Over 2.5 Goals
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Tottenham 2 v 2 Barcelona

Napoli v Liverpool – Wednesday 3 October – Champions League – BET HERE

This is a big game in what is a competitive group. Napoli have a 100% record at home this season but drew their opening match and lost four of their six group games last year. Liverpool started their campaign with victory over PSG and won three of their six away games in the competition last season. The Reds beat Napoli 5-0 in pre-season and I’m backing them to win again.

Match Tip: Over 2.5 Goals
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Napoli 1 v 2 Liverpool

Borussia Dortmund v AS Monaco – Wednesday 3 October – Champions League – BET HERE

These sides are in contrasting form ahead of this clash. Dortmund beat Brugge two weeks back and have won all three of their home games this season, scoring 14 times in the process. Monaco lost their first match to Atletico and have already suffered defeat twice on the road this season. Dortmund lost to Monaco in the quarter finals in 2016/17, and I expect them to take revenge here.

Match Tip: Over 2.5 Goals
Mr. Predictor’s Verdict: Borussia Dortmund 3 v 1 Monaco
