Top 5 Bets for the Weekend: August 4-5

We pick through the list of odds and stats to find some bets we like the look of, so you don’t have to!

Atlanta United v Toronto – Over 2.5 Goals – 1.35 – BET HERE

Considering their position as league leaders in the Eastern Conference, it is little surprise that Atlanta have scored more goals at home than any other MLS side in 2018, with 31 goals in 12 matches. There have been Over 2.5 Goals in nine of their 12 home MLS matches this season, as has happened in eight of Toronto’s 11 away games. Last year’s meeting between these sides ended 2-2, as did their encounter in 2016. Judging by recent form, there should be goals here.

Hammarby v Trelleborg – Both Teams to Score – 1.80 – BET HERE

Hammarby are second in the Allsvenskan, but both teams have scored in eight of their last ten league games. In fact, the Swedish outfit have scored and conceded in 12 of their 15 league matches this season. Trelleborg are three points from the bottom of the table, but both sides have found the net in each of their past seven games, including their 3-1 defeat to the hosts on Monday. Odds on a repeat look good.

Anderlecht v Oostende – Home Win and Over 2.5 Goals – 1.90 – BET HERE

Anderlecht began their league campaign with a 4-1 win over Kortrijk last weekend. There have been at least three goals in eight of their past ten league matches going back to last season. Similarly, four of their final five pre-season friendlies saw Over 2.5 Goals. Eight of Oostende’s final ten league games in 2017/18 featured three or more goals, while they won 2-1 against Royal Excel Mouscron on Saturday. Expect goals here.

Genk v St. Truiden – Home Win – 1.45 – BET HERE

It’s now 13 wins in a row for Genk (four in the league, two in the Europa League qualifiers and seven in friendly matches). They began the domestic season with a 4-0 victory against Lokeren last weekend and followed it with a 4-1 win over Fola Esch in Wednesday’s Europa League tie. The visitors only won three of their 20 away games in the league last season, and have lost on four of their past five visits to Genk. Can we expect anything to change this time around?

Parana Clube v Ceara – Home Win and Under 4.5 Goals – 2.00 – BET HERE

Parana Clube and Ceara were both promoted to the Brazilian Serie A at the end of last year, but they’re struggling now. They currently occupy the bottom two places in the table, with Parana two points above the visitors. The hosts have won three and drawn two of their past five home league games, while there have been Under 4.5 Goals in all 16 of their Serie A matches this season. Ceara have drawn two and lost five of their seven away games so far this season, with only three goals in that run. The past four meetings between these sides have yielded a total of six goals. It looks unlikely that Ceara will produce here.
